Our Roots

Article Image

Pronounced WASH COLD & deeply rooted in my love for my heritage & culture, the word Wa'ix (wa-eesh) is Mayan Kaqchikel for zero. The Maya created the concept of zero as a tool for measurement in equations and calendars. A feat many civilizations did not achieve. As a latino I’ve seen the significance in everything minorities have achieved; because my parents knew the value of everything, when you have zero. They knew what it meant to start from nothing. A product of a strong matriarchal family. My grandfather was a printing press operator, a master of inks, papers, tech and colors. My father is a creative genius who can create/build/imagine anything. I’m simply a sneaker & fashion enthusiast, techie & football lover who sought  to express myself through clothing as a medium. Using my culture, perspective, environment, & passions while showing the world that starting from zero does not mean you’re nothing.
